We do have a new server for Stoyan. It took a brief detour in my lab, but will be shipped out this week.

I would have to say that I agree with what Bob says here. I'm
assuming that filibeto.org directs the mail requests to a different
machine than the one that is serving up the web page and the like...
I can't imagine that the load would be too high, although with enough
users receiving the mailings I guess it could be.

If it's a configurable option it'd be great if digests could be sent
out more often.

Yes. Even terrible network connectivity (e.g. 56kb dial-up :) ought to do better than queuing short e-mails mail for excess of an hour. That seems an unlikely root cause to me, unless perhaps if it's serving many other active mail lists. The web site, for instance, seems reasonably responsive. More likely is some sendmail tunable that tells it how often to unspool mail, which is set high (perhaps by default). But I'm not a sendmail pro. Of course ottomeister is :) Perhaps he can weigh in with some advice.

Please don't take this as criticism. I certainly know very little about mail relays myself. I just have an interest in seeing the situation improved.

I think filibeto provides an invaluable service to the Sun Ray community. Thanks very much Stoyan for your efforts.
