Also, unless you've run the utfwadm command to specify that you want the
GUI version of the firmware, the /tftpboot files will only be updated
for the default non-GUI firmware.
You need to run 'utfwadm -a -A -n all -f /opt/SUNWut/lib/firmware_gui'
on each server to specify that you want to configure the GUI firmware to
be loaded. utfwsync will only take care of this for default firmware by
default. You can run utfwadm on all the servers, then run 'utfwsync -d'
to avoid re-configuring with default firmware.

Hi all,
I've just installed the latest Sun Ray Server patch for x86
(Patch 127554-03) on a server running Nevada build 82. Apart
from the whining about SunOS 5.11 instead of 5.10, installation
went without a hitch. However, when I executed the utfwsync
(per the installation instructions), nothing on the Sun Ray clients
appeared to happen.
According to the installation instructions, the firmware delivered
by this patch is version GUI4.0_127553-03_2008.05.14.13.48. Alas,
the version on my clients appears to be unchanged form the original:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] /opt/SUNWut/sbin/utdesktop -p 00144fa181f9
Current Properties:
Desktop ID = 00144fa181f9
Model = SunRayP8-FS
Firmware Revision = GUI4.0_48_2007.08.01.15.48

The timestamp on the firmware files delivered with the patch are indeed
from August last year, so the question is: where's the new firmware?
Any pointers greatfully received.
Rich,
Hopefully some x86 expert will respond. I have SRS 4.0 on SPARC
with all recent patches. After running the firmware command
on the server and power cycling a old SunRay, it shows the
new firmware:
[erdas:/space/patch/s10]# /opt/SUNWut/sbin/utfwadm -A -a -n all
All the units served by "erdas" on the 192.168.128.0
network interface, running firmware other than version
"4.0_127553-03_2008.05.14.13.48" will be upgraded at their next
power-on.
### stopped DHCP daemon
### started DHCP daemon
### reinitialized DHCP daemon
[erdas:/tmp/SUNWut/units]# /opt/SUNWut/sbin/utdesktop -p 0003ba10f8a6
Current Properties:
Desktop ID = 0003ba10f8a6
Model = SunRayP2
Firmware Revision = 4.0_127553-03_2008.05.14.13.48
and so on ...
Did you power cycle the SunRay after adding the patch and running
the utfwadm command? (Before the command and powercycling, I had
an older firmware version: 4.0_127553-01_2007.11.09.17.4, apparently
from and earlier version of the patch.)
