Before you do any of this, be sure there are no settings already set
which are giving you this bad behavior. When things go wrong like this,
it's usually due to one of two reasons:
1 The monitor, monitor cable, or any cable adapters used are too old to
pass the DDC signal, or
2 Somebody has been playing around with settings (utsettings, utxconfig,
or utresadm), and messed them up.

So first check #2 by running utxconfig -o and utresadm -o to see if any
settings are already set. If they are, delete them.
Then check your cables and connectors to make sure they're modern. The
cables shipped with the product should be OK.

If things still aren't working, then you can try utxconfig to set the
resolution for the token. You can run utsession -p to see the tokens in
use. After making a change you have to log out and in again, or use
utsession -k to kill the session and start a fresh one. Usually this is
sufficient. Using utsettings and utresadm should be your final option if
all else fails.

The utxconfig error sounds like you ran utxconfig from a remote login,
and not from a Sun Ray session.
You need to either run it from a Sun Ray session, or use the "-t" option
to specify the token you want to set ("-a" to set the system default
should also work).
