These variables are not set.
I checked the scripts and the variables are set in 0100.SUNWut.sh. I added
some extra lines to check if these scripts are running and they ran.
I know what to do.
Can we share your thoughts with the rest of the community?
My guess is that Opensuse 11, like SLES10, is exec'ing the xinitrc.d
scripts instead of sourcing them, so that any environment modifications
don't get carried into the user session.
If you look in /opt/SUNWut/lib/utctl.d/features/utgdmconfigctl, you'll
see a function called "isPlatformExecing" which attempts to discover a
SLES10 system and configure gdm with a wrapper we provide which sources
the scripts.
The best fix would be to extend that function to recognize Opensuse.
Either modify isSLES10 to discover Opensuse also, or else add a similar
isOpensuse function and call it from isPlatformExecing.
And, in the meantime, file a bug against Opensuse so that they stop this
nasty habit in future releases.
If you extend this script, it would be very helpful to the community if
you could post it on the User Group Twiki. If the changes are made
cleanly, we will consider integrating it into the next SRSS release.
Although we can't support every flavor of Linux in the world, we do want
to make using your favorite flavor as straightforward as possible.

Is the $AUDIODEV environment variable defined in your session?
Is there a utaudio process running in your session?
What happens if you run /opt/SUNWut/bin/utaudio by hand, setenv AUDIODEV
to its output, then start up your sound application?
e.g. setenv AUDIODEV `/opt/SUNWut/bin/utaudio`; xmms

Hi all,
I'm playing a little bit with Sunray 4.1 on Opensuse 11.
It starts to work, except the sound. Opensuse is now using Pulseaudio as
general sound system. I uninstalled pulseaudio, but it didn't help.
Anyone better luck?

Wouter
