Well, OK. I'm presunming you mean the "default font path" is compiled into the server binary, rather than figured out from any configuration file? Looks like it: $ strings /opt/SUNWut/lib/Xnewt | grep -i /font /usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc,/usr/share/X11/fonts/misc Of course I'd really prefer any "customisation" to survive patches and also reflect other system changes, and if I read your response correctly there is no currently supported mechanism for doing that? In which case the creation (via symlink or whatever) of the file /etc/X11/XF86Config would seem a fair enough "workaround as it leaves the utxsun file unchanged? btw the comments in utxsun include # For FCS we'll do this at install time and # keep the path in a file. This does not seem to have made it into SRSS 4.1. I also applied patch 139550-01. Kevin
