No, it's not. See previous mail. xscreensaver has no changes specific
to SRSS.
I don't understand what's complicated about RHA. You don't have to use
shift-pause, you can simply lock the screen and that will
disconnect/lock the session.
And then you authenticate to regain access to your session. This is
identical to normal screensaver behavior, it just uses a different GUI
look/feel.
Note for *Linux* distros where gnome-screensaver has become the desktop
screen locker, shift-pause (or control-moon :) *is* the best way to lock
the session in 4.1, because we are unable to instrument
gnome-screensaver to detach the session automatically upon screen lock
(because it doesn't use PAM properly :( ). We may be able to work around
this in a future release (mostly because there's a plan (which may or
may not ever be realized) for GDM to subsume gnome-screensaver's
functionality, thus we won't have to deal with gnome-screensaver any
more :) ).
