Yes, sorry for the lame answer. Was trying to answer quickly before heading out the door and did not read your question throughly.

Thanx Craig, but my problem is a bit bigger than that.

For instance;

When I login on a 2FS with 2 17" screens attached there are two modes of interest supported:

(example)
4.1280x1024
*5. 2560x1024

My collegue has a 1680x1050 screen.
Upon insertion that mode will be unavailable.

The other way around this screen only supports 1280x960; so:
4.1280x960
*5 1680x1050

So again, no correct resizing.

Therefore using utxconfig to force any resolution to 1680x1050 won't only result in some weirdness (panning on the login- and OSD-screens), but won't fix this nasty either.

Yes, search the archives for the thread " system wide utaction"
around December 16th 2008. There is a script called utfit written
by Bob Doolittle. Good info on that whole thread.

Just remember that you can only go down or up to the original
session, so a good trick is to use utxconfig to set a default res
that equals your largest possible starting resolution.

        Hi all,

With the new SRSS one of the best changes was the introduction
        of the XRandR extension.

But we noticed the available modes in XRandR don't get updated
when you insert your card in another Sun Ray.

Is there a way to insert custom modes or force the mode list to
        update upon reinsertion?

        Regards,

        Ronald
