Dan, I upgraded an old Etch install to testing a few months ago, but it was a mixed system for a while, and perhaps when I upgraded srss from 3 to 4.1 a dependency was registered by alien that became obsolete after the full upgrade to Lenny last weekend. Haven't restarted everything again but will report if I have more problems. Since the upgrade utusbrun scanimage -L didn't show my scanner any more, and a new serial-to-USB converter (Belkin FSU 103v) is not being detected either. But this may have two unrelated reasons.
