Applying the patch does fill /tftpboot. You need to run utfwadm

Ah, okay, I'm running a fresh install of SRSS 4.1 on a fresh install of
Lenny, big difference. ;-)
Definitely sounds like something's fubar'd with your usb libs if the other
stuff isn't even detecting.
Hello Dan and all,
today I reinstalled and automount and scanning are now working. The
fubar condition is sort of over. Sort of :-\ - when I did some scanning
at times the transfer gets stuck and 16C stayed around, moving around
every few seconds. Switching the scanner (an old sturdy Epson 1200USB)
off and on helped, once I had to do a warm restart of my SunRay 1 DTU. I got
# grep segfault /var/log/kern.log
Mar 7 21:27:14 myhost kernel: [ 6064.183667] saned[11423]: segfault at
204a68 ip b7e7bf6a sp bffc2090 error 4 in libc-2.7.so[b7e0d000+155000]
Mar 7 22:24:48 myhost kernel: [11939.032419] scanimage[14223]: segfault
at 78203071 ip b7fc1285 sp bfff9750 error 6 in libusbut.so.1[b7fbd000+20000]
The first one seems to be a known libc6 bug (didn't bother to look up
its number but Google gave many hits). The second I just want to report
here. Scanning does work with say 8 tries for 5 pages using gscan2pdf
which has, due to my request to its creator, among its preferences an
option for adding utusbrun as a prefix to scanimage. Great program, really.
BTW the debianized updates from patch 139550-01 did not fill /tftpboot/
with the December firmware. I copied it from /opt/SUNWut/lib/firmware to
/tftpboot/. I now get "version mismatch" error codes but utquery shows
currentFW=4.1_139548-01_2008.12.08.15.16. Is there anything I should do?
Regards,
Andreas
