Is there a way to send printing status notification to user who prints
to a redirected printer from Windows?
From my observation, a print job is removed from the Windows printer
queue as soon as it is successfully sent to Solaris print queue. The
print queue may not always be in the "enable" state due to out of paper
or offline. A user without visibility of what is going on behind the
scene will think the print job fails and keep sending the same print job
to the printer. When enough print jobs get stuck in the Solaris print
queue, it seems to not only affect that user's print jobs but also other
user's print jobs.
Is there anyway to overcome the problem?
