So here's the situation. I've got Sun VDI 3.0 running, providing virtual
desktops to a bunch of sunrays. That's all working fine until I try to
do two screens with a DVI to Cat5 connector.

So I've got a 20" widescreen connected to port 1 with a DVI cable
running at 1680x1050, then a second display that's a 17" into port two
with a dvi to cat5 connector
(http://www.atlona.com/Atlona-1080p-DVI-Passive-Extender-over-Single-Cat5-up-to-100ft-NEW-p-17546.html),
which needs to run at 1280x1024. It does not appear that I can set two
different resolutions using the utresadm command. I tried to set it
using utxconfig which sets the overall screen resolution. However this
relies on DDC/EDID to be working correctly to detecting the display. So
I get the correct overall resolution of 2960x1024 that I specify using
utxconfig but the second display always wants to run at 640x480 so the
picture on the 2nd display scrolls. I think the reason I'm having
problems with the adapter is because it is sending the video over on
Cat5e cable and does not send any of the DDC/EDID information and leaves
it up to the OS/user to select the correct resolution. Do you know if
it is possible to specify the resolution for the second display?

Thanks
