'utresadm -a -v2 -c ...' will force the timing of the second output. Also make sure the unit has up-to-date firmware. There used to be a firmware bug that would cause the 2FS to not report that it had a second output at all if DDC on that output failed, and in that case 'utresadm' would not attempt to influence the timing of that output.
