Again I am not sure if this is the case with you but perhaps it might be an idea!!

Check ls /etc/init.d/ to see whats in there if there is something called shorewall or so....

No, that's not it. Never heard of shorewall before, and there is no shorewall script in there, or anywhere on the box for that matter.

I don't think it is a Linux problem, I think it is an SRSS 4.1 / 4.2 problem - I've seen problems like this before, but in those cases only people who are actually working with the software managed to answer my questions.

I mean, it halts at 26D, that means it has a connection (it even manages to setup DTU encryption if I enable it!) it just doesn't retrieve the graphics. SO i suspect it is something with GDM, X or the like.
