utxconfig should be run once only. It sets a persistent setting for your smartcard/token for future sessions. You will have to log out after setting it in order to get a new X server that picks up the preference, but after that you should not have to run utxconfig ever again.

Bob,
Thanks. So would it be best to add the utxconfig just before the utfit command and set it to what ever the monitor can support? Or is this something you just run once on each server in the FOG?

The problem is most likely that you're not strictly moving from a large monitor to a small one. In fact your 1600x1200 monitor is wider. My guess is that the initially-allocated framebuffer isn't big enough to handle it.

1680*1050 = 1764000 pixels
1600*1200 = 1920000 pixels

So the 1600x1200 monitor requires an overall-larger framebuffer.
Try running "utxconfig -r 1600x1200" . After that, your initial session will always be sized to the larger one, and you can xrandr back and forth at will.

Running SRSS 4.1 and testing out resizing desktop automagicly when moving from sunray with large monitor to sunray with a smaller monitor and vis versa.

I found the utfit script from Bod D. and not having any luck getting it to work. I'm testing with just my account, so have put the following in my .dtprofile:

/opt/SUNWut/bin/utaction -c /usr/local/bin/utfit &

When I use my smart card on a Sunray with a monitor that supports 1680x1050, then move to a sunray with a monitor res of 1600x1200, it is not resizing my session.

Running the command by hand, on the 1600x1200 sunray, I'm getting the error from xrandr of "Size 1600x1200 not found in available modes".
Which doesn't make since as the sunray works fine with that monitor.
Any ideas what's going on here?
