Hi Scott,

My DTUs sessions are using Static Assigned VDI (Advanced -> Kiosk Mode).
And I don't require my DTUs to use CDE/JDE, the Sunray servers just act as
a conduit for RDP.

So I thought CDE is not required. I disabled CDE, it disabled all DTUs.
Enable CDE, everything is back to normal.

And according to Bob:
"Yes, Kiosk was rewritten in 4.1 and now utilizes the PAM stack on
dtlogin. You don't see the greeter, but it is running the context which
launches Kiosk."

I guess we have to leave "
svc:/application/graphical-login/cde-login:default" running / enabled.

Regards,
Alan

Alan,

How did you set up your kiosk mode? One of the choices is to use
CDE. For example, my oldest SRS setup uses the CDE option even though
users never see CDE [the TCs go to a customized splash screen instead].
But I suspect if I disabled CDE, I might have problems.

Subject: EXTERNAL:[SunRay-Users] cde-login:default disable?

Hi

I was trying to run my sunray servers in CLI mode as the Sunrays DTU are
using the servers as passthru / RDP conduit to users' Windows XP desktop
VM.
I did it by "svcadm disable
svc:/application/graphical-login/cde-login:default".

But that command also disable all the Sunray DTU as in users were kicked
out of their sessions and can't connect to their desktops.

Why do I need CDE desktop when my Sunray servers are just acting as a
RDP pass thru conduit? I remember I can run CLI mode under Sunray Server
3.
I am now using 4.1. Different concept?

Thanks.

Regards,
Alan
