Ivar, the most common problem with installing patches
is that patchadd requires the that the path to the patch is owned by
root.
This is a security "feature" so that it wont be possible to run
patchadd on something that
a crafty user has planted in their home directory.
This could be you problem . Check that all the directories leading to
the patch is owned by root or
place the the patch dir directly under /tmp and run patchadd manually.

I don't see my question anymore, so here is the short version:
I have some troubles installing VDI 3.2.
Any suggestions would be helpfull since I am planning to install VDI 3.2
at a customer location early next week.
I have a freshly installed solaris 10 system with very recent
recommended patches installed.
I first install vb-install. That works fine.
Then, when I install vda-install it stops when installing the Sun Ray
patches. (See errors below)

This appears to be an attempt to install the same architecture and
version of a package which is already installed. This installation
will attempt to overwrite this package.
