I tried to repair the Windows system on a .vdi diskimage from a Windows
CD-rom.
I also tried to fix the mbr by booting from the CD-rom, choose repair,
type FIXMBR and confirm.
Both actions did not seem to change anything.

I dont know concerning vdi but on physical windows this usually means
the mbr was not found or doesnt exist.
Hope this helps in some way.

Just wondering if someone has experienced the same problem.
I have converted a Acronis' backup images (.tib) with VMware
converter to a VMware workstation 6.5 .vmdk diskimage.
I can run this .vmdk diskimage in Virtualbox. (with and without IO
APIC configured)
I can convert the .vdmk diskimage to a .vdi diskimage with:
$ VBoxManage clonehd xx.vmdk xx.vdi --format VDI
No error messages are reported during the conversion.
But when I use this xx.vdi file as a harddisk, Windows does not boot.
I get a black rectangular screen with a white cursor stripe in the
left top corner.
I have no idea what goes wrong here.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Kind regards,
Ivar
