I have experienced sound issues as well with SRSS 4.2 with Windows
Server 2003. Basically sound doesn't work at all. And when I go try to
unmute the sound under sound devices in the control panel and hit apply
it immediately brings the sound level back to 0 and mute. Output
devices is Sun Ray RDP. I installed the latest SRSS 4.2 patch and
Windows connect patch but no go..anyone have any suggestions on this ?

We are seeing an intermittent issue with sound using the Sunray
connector. We have the sunray servers setup so that only the
headphone jacks are enabled for sound. This works most of the time.
But on occasions, a user will report that the sounds start to come
out
of the external speakers of the sunray! This is during their session
   on Windows Server 2008R2.

Longshot: this is a known problem with Early Access 4.2. Adjusting
audio level in XP (probably others) immediately sets all outputs active.
Corrected in general release.

Config: Solaris/x86, Rays connecting to VMWare View 4.
