I have experienced sound issues as well with SRSS 4.2 with Windows Server 2003. Basically sound doesn't work at all. And when I go try to unmute the sound under sound devices in the control panel and hit apply it immediately brings the sound level back to 0 and mute. Output devices is Sun Ray RDP. I installed the latest SRSS 4.2 patch and Windows connect patch but no go..anyone have any suggestions on this ?

We have the sunray servers setup so that only the headphone jacks are enabled for sound. This works most of the time. But on occasions, a user will report that the sounds start to come out of the external speakers of the sunray! This is during their session on Windows Server 2008R2. Longshot: this is a known problem with Early Access 4.2. Adjusting audio level in XP (probably others) immediately sets all outputs active. Corrected in general release.
