   I haven't noticed a difference.
In my larger lab I've got 12 Sunray2s on one side of the room and 18
Sunray 1Gs on the other. The students don't show a bias for one type
or the other, and they are generally sensitive to performance. :)

We see significantly better performance on the Ray 2 compared to the Ray
1 in Adobe Flash material, both in Solaris desktops and in connections
to MS-Windows (usually via VMWare View). We have no 1G for comparison.

In the View environment, we use only the Sun audio driver and not video
acceleration specific to the Ray 2.

The Ray 1 has a (hard?) ceiling on horizontal pixels that won't drive
1440x900 displays.

Config: Solaris/x86, sometimes with "hires_tick = 1" for switches giving
packet loss.
