It is my understanding that this message is logged when the Windows server closes the RDP connection unexpectedly. That is, not at the request of uttsc. Yes it's a nascence but there really isn't much else uttsc can do. It might be nothing, for example the 120 second GINA timeout, or indicative of a more serious problem with the network or the W2K8 server. From the description of the screen artifacts, I would look at the utcapture output to see if you are experiencing significant packet loss. Significant being anything more that say 1 per minute.
