It's possible that utaudio isn't working in your environment for some reason. Try running it by hand in a terminal window and see if it issues an error, or if you see a device path on stdout as you should...

SUN_SUNRAY_TOKEN (Payflex.500b873500130100) gets set but $AUDIODEV does not get set. When I run utaudio manually I get the following error:
master control open: No such file or directory
