Hi Guys,
Just a big thank you and update on my 10.04 woes that i was
experiencing last year. After some testing it appears I was experiencing
problems when I started the install guide steps form Ubuntu desktop,
rather than server. The moment I folled the guide correctly it worked.

I can only assume it to be around the fact the desktop edition install
gdm, then I remove that and install an older version. I did purge etc.
but still had issues. I follow the guide exact no problems.

Thanks for all your help.

I built a "gold" image and deploy it virtualised on Linux KVM - works a
treat. No sound through, but I believe that is because I haven't exposed
the sound card correctly through KVM, so the actual Linux image does not
see a sound card.

Have had 20 users, full desktop sessions, OpenOffice, big fat memory and
spike Java application, firefox, thundird all on a Core i5 12GB RAM (and
over 2Gb RAM to spare)
