Subject: [SunRay-Users] Smartcard ProblemMy smartcard against a Linux server stopped working this afternoon. I just get a hang with a grey screen and a static star burst, I see -rw-r----- 1 root utadmin 16384 2012-01-18 13:34 auth_log which seems to be the time the hang started, That log ends with ----- Trying OberthurCS Unable to determine ID for OberthurCS Trying JavaBadge/CommonAccessCard Unable to determine ID for JavaBadge/CommonAccessCard Trying ActivCardGoldJavaCard Unable to determine ID for ActivCardGoldJavaCard Trying JavaBadge-Citibank Unable to determine ID for JavaBadge-Citibank Trying Belgian-eID Unable to determine ID for Belgian-eID Trying MicroPayflex/Payflex (Generic Names) Identified MicroPayflex Token ID: 50029bee00130100 Token Type: MicroPayflex (This is my blank line for emphasis) Trying OberthurCS Unable to determine ID for OberthurCS Trying JavaBadge/CommonAccessCard Unable to determine ID for JavaBadge/CommonAccessCard Trying ActivCardGoldJavaCard U ------ It's not timestamped but it looks like the first batch is the typical sequence it uses to identify the card successfully. And the second looks like it crashed in the middle. How do we recover from this? All the non-smartcard sessions are fine, so I hate doing a disruptive utrestart (assuming that would fix it).
Well as an update we tried a warm utrestart with no effect on the smartcard problem. Haven't tried a cold restart since that will kill 25 running sessions that don't use smartcards.
Is there anything else to try? The way the log reads, stopping in mid sentence make me think a process has died. Is that the case or is the smartcard authentication done within utauthd (a java process which is still alive and well).
Is it possible to restart utauthd without killing sessions? _______________________________________________ SunRay-Users mailing list [email protected] http://www.filibeto.org/mailman/listinfo/sunray-users
