- Documention is now there ...

- The needed patch for the firmware is p13928709_110_Generic.zip I assume,
which I have now downloaded and yes I guess you need to have Sun Ray Hardware
Maintainance Contract to be able to download it, but got no clear advise from
my Oracle partner so far.

See the release notes ... quite cloudy words.

Sun Ray Operating Software

The Sun Ray Client firmware is no longer part of the Sun Ray Software media kit
and must be downloaded and installed separately through the Sun Ray Operating
Software release. The Sun Ray Client firmware is now officially called Sun Ray
Operating Software, but the term "firmware" will continue to be used throughout
the documentation. See Appendix A, Sun Ray Operating Software 11.0 Release for
details.

I also noticed that VDI 3.4 was posted on eDelivery...

As for the firmware support, I seem to be able to download the package from
support without issue, and as far as I know, we only have SRS/VDI support (and
not HW support).

Maybe the fact that my CSIs are for "VDI" rather than SRS makes a difference..

Subject: [SunRay-Users] srs 5.3

SRS 5.3 appeared yesterday:
<https://edelivery.oracle.com/EPD/Download/get_form?egroup_aru_number=14795971>

There is yet no documentation at
<http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/sunrayproducts/docs/index.html>

Oracle splitted the firmware from the software bundle. The firmware is now
called "Sun Ray Operating Software" and is downloadable only form "My Oracle",
i.e., with support agreement. I have support for SRS and can download, e.g,
patch 5.2.5, but not the "Sun Ray Operating Software". Let's hope this is only
a transitional issue and we don't have to pay extra for the firmware.
