You mention that the Kiosk users are automatically logged in. Do you mean at boot, or when inserting the smart-card. You could setup a certain smart card to run a kiosk mode session. Kiosk users are automatically logged in (no password). But you cannot control the kiosk user name, a new one will be picked from a pool of kiosk users for each new session. But you could use one of these solutions to work around that: - if you only need one of these special accounts, create only one kiosk user. That way, your one kiosk session will always use the same user - write a script that tells your other application which username is currently running the x server Bjoern
