You could try utresadm to enforce particular resolution for a particular
token (IEEE MAC address of the DTU). BTW, does this also happen if you
first power on the display, and then power on (or powercycle) the DTU,
that is, when the DTU should already know the display's best supported
resolution? Does it happen or change with different display models?
