Hello and welcome from the lad of the jet lagged....
A few things to cover in this mail, so lets get started. First off I have
some interesting facts from SSHQ in response to some of the discussion
about the lateness/availability of Cover Me.
The primary delay was caused by the collapse of Pulse8. As is usual
practice the record company owned all rights to material recorded under
contract with them (including Cover Me and Catch). After their demise
rights do not revert back to SS, in fact to this day SS have no legal right
to release Cover Me. This is why the release was done under a pseudonym
(and why the vocals were removed), and in limited numbers. But why release
at all when it brings the risk of legal action? Simply because Pulse8 had
never paid TE, who were rightfully after their money. SS released exactly
enough copies of the single to pay TE their fee, and in fact the money went
straight from the distributor to TE's management, SS never saw a penny of it.
SS still hope to do a full release one day, and this will include the full
vocal version. It will also of course be under the real name and be on CD
as well as vinyl. As for publicity - for the reasons mentioned it was not a
good idea to publicise the release too much. However SS were going to write
to their mailing list with all this explanation and offer priority copies
to anyone who wanted to order it. OOH Boy simply pre-empted this, hence the
confusion.
Moving on, now is the time to mail me any questions you have burning in the
back of your mind for SS. I am going out to essex to chat about some new
projects tomorrow afternoon (sorry for the short notice!) so I need any
messages for them by 10am gst (5am eastern) on wednesday. Also - if anyone
has mailed me in the past with questions you might like to remind me in
case I miss them while looking back through email! You can send stuff

Also - new website stuff. I'm in the process of doing the video for When -
to be included on the multimedia page. There is a delay as I have
discovered that the audio mix is unique for the video, i.e. it is not any
of the available cd mixes. I can't use the sound from the video itself (as
the quality is very poor) so I am taking a minidisc recorder down to the
studio tomorrow with me to take a digital copy straight off the masters
(the wonders of modern technology!).
