[snip a load of info]
Many many thanks for that- I was amazed that it was such a comprehensive
response! And very helpful, much appreciated. Thanks to the several
other people who also e-mailled me direct with helpful URLs as well. The
Sunscreem list was the most helpful of the 4 mailing lists I asked for
info from, by far. Just shows you something about Sunscreem fans, I
guess. <grin>.

Apparently so! The current release date given in the UK (from a few
sources) is August 2nd (so, just over two weeks away), and reviews have
been appearing in a few places in the UK music press, which means that
the promos have been sent out and the commercial release should indeed
be following. For once, we have high high hopes...
In fact, most of my favourite bands are in the process of new releases;
Jimmy Cauty (ex-KLF) is releasing his remix of Hawkwind's "Silver
Machine" in the next few weeks, and promos of the Utah Saints' "Love
Song" are getting played here and there, with talk of a commercial
release in September/October. The Pet Shop Boys' new single is due out
next week, Apollo 440's soon after, and Orbital, the Chemical Brothers,
Moby and Faithless have all put out good new stuff this year.
My point is- the only thing missing from turning 1999 into a _very_ good
year for music seems to be the lack of a proper commercial release from
Sunscreem*. <sigh>. Well, there's still time I suppose...
Stuart.
PS. Or Arkarna, or the Crystal Method, or a few others, but then this
e-mail wasn't intended to be a cheap excuse to plug my music tastes.
