How do I get may email off this list? I'm sick and tired of receiving
hundreds of repeated messages every day.

Firstly, a BIG SORRY if this message keeps getting bounced back again
and again to the list by whoever's mail server is causing these
repeated-message problems.
Secondly, a BIG THANK YOU & SORRY to the people who set up this
particular mailing list for what I'm about to suggest...
Maybe it would be a good idea to move the Sunscreem list to a different
server, to prevent (or at least help to prevent) problems like this
happening in the future. I'm on quite a few groups at Yahoo! Groups (
http://groups.yahoo.com/ ) which, despite the silly name, seem to have
several advantages over this set-up. I'm not an expert on the server
system that this Sunscreem list is running on, but there are the
advantages and disadvantages that I can see with moving this list to
Yahoo! Groups:
Advantages:
- repeatedly-bouncing messages are either automatically stopped
by Yahoo! themselves, or can be easily stopped by a list moderator
- subscription & unsubscription made easier as it can be via
e-mail or the Web
- the list (or just new members, or just certain members) can be
moderated to reduce spam or excessive arguments (not that those are
major problems, but anyway)
- more people might find the list by searching Yahoo for
'Sunscreem'
- various little novelty functions such as a files area (20Mb)
to upload files for sharing, a calendar function, quick-searchable
archive, stuff like that
- ability for people to join the list by a digest form (is this
available anyway?), or in a web-only form where they receive no e-mail
but can check messages via the Web
Disadvantages:
- a few lines of Yahoo!-advertising text stuck at the end of
each e-mail
- the slight hassle of moving everybody from one list to the
other (about 30 minutes work?)
I've got no personal interest in Yahoo! Groups and don't mean to sound
like I'm promoting them, I just don't want Sunscreem chat to get buried
in technical problems and this seems like a fair way around it.
All just my opinion, and again thanks to the people who made the effort
to set this list up in the first place, and I hope you don't think I'm
undermining what you've done.
