Nope, this is a cross-platform firewire card that has the Mac O/S logo on
the box and I paid full retail.  I exchanged it for the same model, but I
couldn't get that one to work either.  Then, I returned it and got a
different brand card from FW Depot.  That one didn't work either until I
upgraded to Mac O/S 9.1 from 9.04 last night.  The upgrade gave me an
extension conflict though.  I tried everything on the Macfixit 9.1 guide.  I
guess I'll just have start restarting under different extensions sets until
I isolate the problem.  This will be tricky since I've gone several minutes
without a freeze, I'm not sure how long I'll have to go with a set before
I'm sure that the extensions don't have the conflict.
