If you can tolerate a Wintel app, there's a great Share/Freeware
program (without Spyware) called MailWasher. I use a hp Pavilion 9880 for
broadband Comcast cable input into my home LAN. You can actually bounce
spam back to the originator, and delete it off the server before it ever
reaches your inbox! You can also add people to your "Blacklist" & "Friends"
list and the app takes care of them from then on. You can even use it to
spot potential virus threats.
I used to receive from 200 - 400 spam msgs per day into my Eudora
reader. Now I've deleted them all out on the individual email servers.
There's also a fairly elaborate filter. Perhaps the developer might port a
Mac version. It should be fairly easy to do.
Download it at http://www.pcmedixwebs.com/mail_washer.htm.
