But deleting didn't mean they were actually being erased - In a way you are making room for other files to write over the deleted files. So 'deleting' itself didn't take any time at all. The deleting does get rid of the preview images and the others would sortof snap into position to fill the gap. I can't recall if multiple images could be marked for deleting all at once. I don't think so. But with the files acquired in a contact sheet on the computer, multiple images could be tagged for gang deletion, rotation, or saving as a Photoshop file, etc. Periodically the cards would be reformatted in the camera, which is how you stay out of trouble. It's been two years since I left the biz and cameras have improved but the routine should be similar. Hope this answers your question...
