Hi all,

First, im new to the list, and im not a native speaker, so please be
patient and tell me if i do anything wrong...

Heres the link: http://home.earthlink.net/~gamba2/daystar/index.shtml

Theres nothing new for download, just the old stuff for <8.6...

This is exactly my problem: All Daystar MP-applications wont work with 8.6
to 9.1. System Profiler shows 2 CPUs, but im not able to test
multiprocessing. Sometimes it feels like the second CPU just sits and does
nothing. Even Cinebench 2000 freezes after 50%, usually while testing
OpenGL.
Umax and Daystar provided two CPU-Plugins (DaystarMP and Multiprocessing
API) which are replaced by Apple CPU Plug-ins after upgrading to 8.6.
Reinstalling both causes freeze on startup, DaystarMP seems to work with
Apples Plug-ins, i dont know if it does anything.

After playing with extensions, i cant remember the configuration, i got MP
Startup (a normal extension which seems to support "nPower Control") to work
with 8.6, but nPower Control (a program which came with the System and is
now owned by Newer or Xlr8) shows a processor speed of 5 Mhz...
Today ive downloaded a CP called MP Movie pack from the Daystar archives
which seems to add MP-abilitys to Quicktime, but it wont work without the
MP API Library...

This is pretty annoying, first of all i just want to know if the second CPU
does anything, just sometimes, so please, does anyone know a little freeware
application for testing multiprocessing ?
If theres anybody whos got all the Daystar stuff to work with 9.1, please
help !!!

This is the system:

Umax Pulsar (european S900)
2 x 233Mhz 604e, 256MB RAM, Voodoo3, ATA66, USB, ProTV TV card, MacOS9.1

The ProTV might be another good topic (6-Slot problem).

Regards,

Christopher
