Gary, Sorry I mislead/misinformed you earlier.
After taking a look at the Proxim site, I was pleasantly surprised. About 18 months ago someone gave me a Farallon PCMCIA card for a laptop. That was prior to Proxim's ownership of Farallon. Looks like they have made some major improvements to wireless communication hardware, and us lowly Mac owners are included for a change! I have been interested in some of the security features of the newest Apple Base Station. I wonder now, if it is compatible with some of the Proxim products.
