I think there is only a benefit in terms of support for some hardware- 
like the Radeon 7000.
Otherwise there are the bragging rights of having an unsupported OS on 
your machine. I run  OS 9.2.2 in Classic mode, but I really don't see 
any benefit to 9.2.2 other than as a vessel for Classic. I have 9.1 on 
my serious work partition.
If it ain't broke, no fix it...
