I am using a LaCie 16/12/32 firewire/USB drive with toast lite and silverlining. It works on my J700 through an Orange Micro combo card. I am running OS 9.1 and other than a few initial conflicts it runs well. It also runs on my iMac at work that is USB only which is why I went with the LaCie even though the fan noise sounds like a small jet taking off when I turn it on.
