Well I just wanted to report on my finally being successful in installing 9.1 on my s900. Boy what a pain it has been.
For some unknown reason, this machine will NOT allow me to perform a basic install on any drive. I had to first install ONLY the core system. Then had to restart and install Individual Apple Menu Items, CP's, and the other in small bunches. I could NOT install Sherlock II under any circumstances. Will not install. (PERIOD!) Ruled it out to this very file. Not even when installing ONLY Sherlock II using Custom Install would it work. I always get the error msg : (Problems were encountered reading the source file Installation Tome. Installation cannot continue.) Even using the method of removing certain files and renaming, updating drivers, etc, this was constant. Despite this, 9.1 does seem to be installed fine now and Ironically, even though Sherlock II installer ALWAYS had to be, and was, turned off during install process, Sherlock II is somehow installed. At least it appears to be all there. Go figure? So had I attempted this piece by piece install process, I probably could have succeeded in installing 9.1 a few months ago. Who'd of thunk? My question is, has anybody ever had a Sherlock II install problem or do you have an inlking of an idea why the installers are behaving this way on my s900? Thanks, Dave (PS. As for the Belkin Video Capture Device, it appears this is the peecee model and not the mac model. We're still playing around with it to see if we can coax it but no luck so far.) -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
