Hi all In my continuing attempt to install OS 9 into my S900 I have switched from FWB drivers to Apple drivers with success. However when I install an internal Apple (Matsushita) 12X drive my system freezes sometimes during start up, sometimes after. When I reinstall my old burned out CD burner (Yamaha 4160 6X4X2) everything is fine. To be specific, OS CDs or data intensive CDs cause a freeze. Audio CDs play just fine in the Apple device.
This sounds like a SCSI problem. My system configuration is below. I'm booting from internal Cheetah drives connected to a SCSI accelerator and not the mother board. Any thoughts? about the Apple CD and system freezing??? Any addtional thoughts on how to get OS 9 to install? I find it incredible that some of your are actually installing OS X. Amazing. Many thanks to those that have responded recently.
