Hi Wally, If the Apple CDROM drive is the only device on the S900's internal SCSI bus, then check to see if it's self terminated. It almost sounds like it's the only device since you're using the 2940 card and the external bus for everything else. The internal CD is usually the first of many devices on the internal bus, so it's self termination pin is usually not in place. It should be if it's all alone on the chain though. If it's an OEM Apple drive you should be able to use any Apple CDROM extension to drive it, instead of whatever you used to drive the Yamaha (Intech, FWB, Apple 5.3.1, etc). But don't have both the old driver and a new Apple CD extension loaded at the same time. Can't think of what else might be causing the freezes, other than the drive being faulty.
