I just installed a new VST 66 IDE card today. It's in slot 1, my ix3D is
in slot 2. The only thing I have connected to the IDE card is an old 2x2x6
CD/RW that I had lying around. I can finally burn CDs on this machine!
I also did a clean OS 10.1 install to a newly acquired 9 gig IBM SCSI drive.
10.1.5 definitely seems snappier, or perhaps it's the clean install with
the G4/450 card installed. IAC, this S900 has never run OS X better than
it is right now.
The weird thing is, after burning a CD using Toast in OS 9.1, OS 9.1 doesn't
recognize it - I get the "This disk is unreadable - eject, initialize,
Toast" dialog. However, 10.1.5 reads it just fine. What CD-ROM
extension should I be using in OS 9.1?
Dan
