That's certainly part of it. That's why I bought 2 more 128 meg DIMMS for my S900 - I have no intention of buying a new Mac from Apple. Their machines are *still* absurdly overpriced. If this machine dies or I otherwise need to replace it, I'll be buying another used machine of some kind - like an old G3 or G4 tower and upgrade that. I'm done buying new, $2000 computers! I haven't bought a *new* computer (of any kind) in 15 years. Of course, with PCs, that's easy to do - just buy a new motherboard/CPU setup and move that into your case. I've replaced the MB/CPU in my main PC 5 times since I bought the box! I've gone from a 386-25 to a 486-33 to a 486-66 to a Pentium-133 to a PII-450 to my current PIII-850. I've lost count of hard drive/RAM/video card/network card upgrades.
