Nancy, I hope your problems are soon solved. I've been keeping a close watch on this to see how your doing. Not really had much to add to the ideas others have had. Your right this really is a great group of people who are really interested in helping others. Some other groups you get picked to pieces if you make one small mistake in what ever. Spelling, Ideas that don't work etc to the point where that seems to be the purpose not helping. I have all along wondered about the cables. I would have made sure they were all really plugged in well as with all the power etc stuff. Also removing the battery isn't enough to do a total reset of the pram and nvram (spelling) you also need to unplug the machine . Jeff's multi-finger thing should also do the trick. Also when I got my Sonnet/Acard ATA 66 card. I plugged the wrong end of the cable into the card. It turns out it matters which end is used where. The long part of the cable with only one connector is used for the card. The other end which has likely 2 or 3 connectors sort of close together is for the hard drive even when using only 1 drive. I was told this can cause problems sometimes. You likely already got that but at this point trying to find all the details. These sort of problems have driven me nuts in the past trying to sort things out wondering if it was new motherboard or machine time. Always turns out to be something so small I can't belive I missed it. Last time it was the SCSI connector at the CD player was loose.
