Well, I don't believe it. Took the zip drive I was trying to use on my VST/ATA 66 card and hooked it up to a peecee. Did this just to make sure it was a working drive. Hence, worked fine. Brought it home and put it back into the s900 and WALA! -sp- It's mounting zips just like normal now, cross-reading from the other scsi zip drive too.
I guess I don't have an explanation as to why it is working now except to think that somehow it just needed to operate normally, maybe reset/flashed the firmware or something? So it's confirmed, Atapi Zip Drives do work on ide cards in older Macs. Once again, thanks all for your previous help in debugging this issue.
