Officially, none. My guess is that these are all DVT (or maybe PVT) units which the Taiwan assembly plant ended up throwing into the regular production batch. It's also possible that they represent a very early production level change, but are still true MP units. (Quick definition of terminologies: EVT = Engineering Verification Testing, at which a product is still being hashed out. Will it work, will this basic technology do the job, etc. Circuit boards are often red at this stage, but this is by no means a rule. Sometimes red just looks good. DVT = Developmental Verification Testing, at which a product is gradually being refined. We know it will work, we're pretty sure this is how we want to do it, but there are still a few issues to hash through. There are often multiple DVT stages, but if there are more than three, you probably left EVT too soon. Often blue circuit boards. PVT = Production Verification Testing, at which the final design has been decided upon and what's being tested now is whether or not it can be successfully, reliably produced in volume in this design. Most of the hardware we used internally in UCC offices were PVT or DVT boxes -- we were always anxious to get the latest thing. Typically green circuit boards. MP = Mass Production, at which units destined for retail roll off the assembly line. Circuit boards are almost always green.) -Kennedy -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
