If my memory serves me right, NewerTech was more specific about this issue and
I simply followed their recommendations and turned it off using the option in
the control panel.
Never wondered about it otherwise and had zero problems, even with several
additions of DIMMs.
(I have always stuck with FPM 60ns modules.)
