Congrats on your "new" S900L.
First thing I did after purchasing mine (new) in 1998 was to remove the door.
Although it is a nice looking design, it got in the way when a CD was ejected
and I failed to open the door ahead of time. If the door is left open, the
chances of it getting broken off increases, and this happened to many owners.
I removed mine out of concern for the CD drawer mechanism getting damaged.

There were sources for these doors, but at the current going prices of a used
S900.....
But on the other hand, if the used S900 does come with a door, there may be a
higher price for "showroom" quality !
