I wanted a power tower Pro and your right of course they were much
more expensive. The motherboard is nearly a clone of the Apple Board
from what I've been told. But the case is a very cheap PC and as many
people have said make sure you have plenty of bandaids on hand when
working inside the case. As the sharp edges will get you! I have a
Power Tower non Pro model machine. It feels looks and is a much
cheaper made machine then the UMAX. Much harder to work on in fact
I'd say the UMAX cases are very deluxe when compared with the Power
machines. They really seemed to cut way more corners then Umax did.
So in the end I'm much happier with the Umax machine. I wonder from
time to time when I see an Apple 8600 , 9600 or Power tower mother
board cheap how hard it would be to stick in the UMAX case? I have an
extra New J700 case in the box. later Will S
PS Jeff your info on the two machines sort of made my head swim ;-)
Glad someone can figure this stuff out though it was more then most
can deal with...
