Hey everyone. Sorry I haven't been able to get back to all of you, as I've been having a bunch of email issues here at home and at work. I've been reading all of your great posts on the archive webpage (thanks Will), and I'm really really sorry I haven't been able to email back. Well, today I got the ram I ordered (all 512 mb of it), and I got a USB card (belkin, mac compatible one), and a USB keyboard and mouse. Then, I accidentally hit the power button on my working old keyboard, and voila, the s900 magically turns on. I think it was because I disconnected my mouse, and the keyboard works. Unfortunately I already opened my nice new usb keyboard, mouse, and card. Oh well. I read if I install at least 8.6, I should be able to use my USB keyboard/mouse, right?
I appreciate all the offers on OS cds. At the moment I think I need 9.1(it seems appropriate). I'm not sure what brand my hard drive is because I can't figure out how to remove it. :) I think its the one that came packaged with the machine, so does anyone think I should get FWB(what does that stand for anyway?) I'll try to get fwb and 9.1 from the swap list, unless someone is kind enough to let me purchase one from them. You are all really nice and helpful. I didn't expect such a huge response from so many people. I've learned a lot the past 36 hours from reading your posts. Its great. Oh yea, sorry I didn't respond to everyone's personal emails, but my inbox is really messed up right now with lots of duplicate emails and missing ones and what not (especially when I compare them to the list and when all of you say you sent me an email offering me something, but I never got it). I feel really bad for not being able to respond. Thank you all. -Chris --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
