The S900DP/250 RAID and S900DP/250 RAID systems both booted from the raid. Not much to it. These systems shipped with FWB RAID Toolkit, but I've used SoftRAID 2.x. (Can't recall ever booting from a SoftRAID array, however....) Just make sure you have plenty of ventilation. The RAID-configured systems originally shipped with another fan installed in the front-bottom of the case, blowing fresh air in. At one point, we had fans on each of the processors, too, for a total of five fans in these systems.
