Hi Dave,

I am not famaliar with the model iMac you have, but there are a couple
of things you might try.

Did you try starting up from a bootable CD.

Push the Nonmaskable Interrupt Button, also known as Programmer's Reset
Button or Reset Button. On older machines there was an actual button
for doing this. On newer machines it is a keyboard combination. It
varies from model to model, so you might have to search Apple's Tech
Articles to fine the appropriate key combo. (For example: on a G3
Laptop - to do a hardware reset, press the Shift-Function-Control-Power
keys simultaneously. On the iMac Flat Panel it is done via holding down
the start up button for a length of time)

You might what to try the keyboard combo to Zap the PRAM.

Also verify that the Firmware is up to date.

Good Luck!
Nancy
